Watercolour Castle & Horses Mural — Girl's Bedroom, Tilal Al Ghaf
soft watercolour fairytale scene created for a girl's bedroom in Tilal Al Ghaf — a hilltop castle, horses grazing by a river, and a warm sunset sky. Designed around a single photo the client sent us, and printed to the exact size of her wall.
The Brief
The client came to us with a single small image she had found and loved — a soft watercolour castle scene. It was the right feeling, but at a few hundred pixels it could never have been printed. Blown up to a bedroom wall it would have been a blur.
The Design
Working from her reference as inspiration, we developed an original scene for her room — the castle repositioned, horses added in the foreground, the palette shifted warmer to sit with the room's oak furniture and strong afternoon light. We used AI design tools as part of that process, the same way a studio uses any tool, then worked on the result by hand until it was right.
The Challenge
Getting an image to print sharply at this size takes far more detail than any original file contains, so the artwork went through several rounds of enlargement and correction until every leaf and stone held up at full scale. The wall itself had complications too: a ceiling bulkhead and air conditioning vent across the top right meant the design had to align to the drop line rather than the ceiling.
The Result
Printed to the exact measured size and fitted in a single day around the existing bed and built-in desk, with no visible joins across the full width. The castle sits behind the bed and the horses fall at eye level from where she sits at her desk.
Send it over — that's exactly what we do. We'll design an original mural around your idea, print it to your exact wall size, and install it ourselves.
